Virgin Atlantic on 11 April operated a repatriation service to Johannesburg with a Boeing 787-9.
The plane, which landed back at London Heathrow last night, was registered G-VCRU. The repatriation service was operated after the plans for border closures were brought forward.
Onboard was extra crew to abide by crew rest regulations, similar to the carrier’s flight to Shanghai last week.
The aircraft spent just 2 hours and 50 minutes on the ground in Johannesburg before making the 10h30m trip back to London.
